Summary: This is in response to the report that one of the girls on Popular will be pregnant for real.
Author's Note: Story was written last summer. It doesn't include any of season 2.

Carmen Ferrera flushed the toilet. That was the second time she threw up today. The past few days she had been throwing up and feeling awful. She was beginning to fear the worst.

"Carmen are you okay?" asked her concerned friend, Sam McPherson. She didn't know the half of it.

"I'm coming out," Carmen answered. She wiped her mouth again and came out of the stall. Sam flashed her a worried look. "I'm fine. Really."

"I'm really worried about you Carmen," said Sam.

"Sam, it's okay,"

"No, it's not."

She thought for a minute.

"Is there any chance you could be . . ." she trailed off.

Carmen didn't answer. Sam gave her a hug.

'Blue,' rang threw Carmen's head. It made her feel numb. Made her feel scared. Lost and alone.

"Hey, these tests aren't very accurate," her friend Lily said trying to cheer her up.

Carmen desperately wanted to believe her but in her heart she knew it was true. Pregnant at 16. Tears began to stream down her face. Lily and Sam did their best to console her.

"We'll go to a clinic and find out the truth," Sam said.

"Yeah, . . . You guys, please don't tell anyone. My mom would-" her eyes watered again.

"Carm, we're here for you," Lily said.

Friday at school was a blur for Carmen. She was completely confused about this. At lunch things were odd too. No one had anything to talk about.

"Hey Spam," Nicole Julian said meanly, "Hey spaz," she added throwing a crumpled piece of paper at Harrison.

"C'mon, would you just leave?" Lily said annoyed.

"Why is everyone so moody today? Do all four of you have PMS?" Nicole fired back.

Everyone shot her pissed off looks.

"Geeks," Nicole said and walked off.

"Y'know, she's got a point. What is up today?" Harrison asked. He was little disenchanted himself, trying to avoid eye contact with Carmen.

"Nothing, Harrison," Sam assured.

Harrison and Carmen made brief eye contact. They both were thrown off a bit. After what happened between them things had been this way for more than two weeks.

"Um, I'll be right back," Carmen said and suddenly fled.

Harrison closed his eyes and lowered his head.

"I'll go and get her," Sam said.

"No . . . I will," Harrison said and went after her.

"Carmen, wait!" Harrison said and grabbed her arm. She turned around.

"What?"

"Listen, I-I know things have been weird around us since... well, you know. I just want to know if we could mend things," Harrison said.

"It's not as simple as that-"

"Carmen, please," he said with pain in his voice, "What can I do?"

He looked so sweet and gave that adorable smile. Carmen wanted to spill everything that happened, but for some reason she couldn't. She smiled.

"Nothing," she said. She knew he was talking about something else but left it this way.

That afternoon Carmen, Lily, and Sam went to the clinic and Carmen took a pregnancy test. They got the results over the weekend. She was pregnant.
